This North Park San Diego engagement session is such a color explosion! But before we talk about how fun the shoot was, I have to tell the story of how the bride, Melissa, and I met. Back in February 2020 (yes I know – we had no idea what was already swirling in the air!), I was invited to photograph a group trip to Colombia with El Camino Travel – a travel company that gathered a dozen strangers to travel from all over the world to Cartagena and Medellin.

El Camino encourages their participants to “be a traveler, not a tourist” and help curate experiences that actually benefit the local communities in the countries they visit. I had no idea what to expect on this trip. However, I was thrilled to realize that I’d not only have an amazing adventure but meet some incredible people as well.

On this journey, I met and bonded with Melissa from Chicago. Fast forward through a global pandemic during which Melissa met her now fiancé, Patrick, and moved to San Diego.

Since we stayed in touch over Instagram, Melissa reached out when she & Patrick were ready to begin their search for a wedding photographer. I was so thrilled to reconnect with these beautiful people!
We had such a fun session in their neighborhood (North Park SD is the cutest!) and even happened to come across an adorable orange bus during our walk. 🚌 #blessed
