At one point, the biggest worry we had about Kendal & Devon’s wedding was whether or not her dress was going to arrive on time … Cut to 2 postponements, 2 venue changes and so many more tough decisions later, these two finally got to tie the knot up in Lake Tahoe. #2020, am I right?
They recently purchased their first home together in nearby Truckee, so finding a stunning, woodsy location was the perfect choice as a backdrop for their wedding. One of my favorite moments was when their officiant read aloud some notes from their close friends who couldn’t be there due to the pandemic about Kendal & Devon and their relationship. It was evident all day long that these two are loved by their community – even though their full community wasn’t able to attend.
With the help of some incredibly talented people, Kendal & Devon planned a beautiful ceremony and reception for their immediate families. They enlisted the help of floral talent, Love & Lupines for the coolest triangular ceremony backdrop that I am obsessed with. Kendal was a bohemian dream, glammed up by beauty team, Kiss & Makeup Tahoe. And as always, it’s such a blast to work alongside my friends, creators of tear-jerking wedding films, The Hubs Films.
These low-key, paired back celebrations have been so beautiful and meaningful. They take weddings back to what they’re truly about – a union of two people. I hope the photos of this special day are inspiring if you’re planning a small wedding. If you need more inspiration, head to my offerings specifically for Micro Weddings!
