Ali & Lafe’s Fort Funston engagement session was so dreamy! They were such champs with the weather – it was so cold & windy, but you’d truly never know it because what shows through in the photos is just how much these two love each other. They chose this stunning spot on the coast as it’s one of their favorite places to take the dog and hang out on the weekends.
I was lucky enough to meet the lovely Ali on the set of another photoshoot! Needless to say, I was thrilled when she asked me to capture her & Lafe’s love story. The two are getting married in just a few weeks in Carmel and it is going to be absolutely gorgeous!! You have to read the story of how these two met from Ali’s perspective – it’s just too good! Take it away, Ali …
We met in May 2010 at a mutual friend’s dinner party. We were both invited to the party as a set-up … though ironically, not to be set up with each other. We sat next to each other at the table, by chance, and four hours later, we were deep in conversation and a bottle of wine, and the rest of the party had moved on.
We had been playing soccer for the same club in San Francisco for years, and practiced weekly on the same field, on the same night of the week. We regularly went out for drinks with our teams after practice, to the same pub trivia at the Pig ‘n’ Whistle, and the teams even traveled together upon occasion. Somehow, we had never even met until that night at dinner.
Eight years later, in the home that we share with our beautiful daughter and our precocious dog, we’re still deep in conversation. And let’s be honest, also wine, because #parentlife.
Ohhhhh my goodness, I’m so smitten with that story!! Just wait for the wedding photos to see how truly beautiful their baby girl is – she is such a light. In the meantime, enjoy their gorgeous windy Fort Funston engagement session!
